HOW TO INSTALL CUSTOM CLOTHING TO A FIVEM SERVER

Add a custom clothing resource to your FiveM server: download, check the files, upload, enable and test. Follow the pack’s own instructions alongside this guide.

For server owners, developers and clothing admins with permission to change server files.

BEFORE YOU START

WHAT YOU NEED.

Exact setup varies by hosting panel, framework and clothing system. Check the supplied README first.

  • Access to the FiveM server files
  • The clothing pack download and its instructions
  • Permission to modify server resources
  • Access to server.cfg or equivalent startup settings
  • A way to start resources or restart the server
FROM DOWNLOAD TO SERVER

FIVE STEPS. ONE CHECKED INSTALL.

  1. Download the clothing pack

Download the pack from its legitimate source. Save the archive locally and keep an untouched backup before editing anything.

For Manik Studios packs, complete the paid or free package checkout through Tebex, then use the delivery provided for that package.

    Example local download
Downloads /example-clothing-pack.zipKeep the original archive safe.
  2. Extract and check the files

Unzip the archive and locate the actual FiveM resource folder. Read the included instructions and check the supported character body. Look for fxmanifest.lua and the stream or data folders supplied with the pack.

YDD files hold drawable/model data; YTD files hold texture dictionaries. These names are illustrations, not filenames to copy. Preserve the real filenames and any supplied metadata.

Example resource layout · names vary
    • example-clothing/
      • fxmanifest.lua resource manifest
      • stream/
        • clothing_file.ydd
        • clothing_texture.ytd
      • Other supplied files or data folders
  3. Upload the resource to the server

Copy the actual resource folder into your server’s resources directory, or the resource category folder your server uses. Preserve all supplied subfolders. Back up any existing resource before replacing it.

The resource folder contains the manifest directly. If the archive has an outer packaging folder, upload the inner resource rather than the whole wrapper. Keep multiple supplied resources separate and follow their instructions.

    Check the folder level
    ✕ Wrong — an extra wrapper folderresources/example-clothing/example-clothing/fxmanifest.lua
    ✓ Right — manifest inside the resourceresources/example-clothing/fxmanifest.lua
  4. Enable the resource

If your server uses server.cfg for startup, add the resource to the appropriate startup configuration. The name must match the resource folder exactly. Your hosting panel or framework may manage this for you.

For a newly uploaded resource on a running server, refresh in the server console rescans the resources directory. Then ensure example-clothing starts it, or restarts it if already running. This does not save a startup entry: use your server’s normal configuration for future restarts.

Follow any supplied dependency or load-order instructions. Arrange restarts with your server team; your hosting panel’s process may take precedence.

    server.cfg · example startup line
    ensure example-clothing

Replace example-clothing with the actual resource name. Do not paste this example unchanged.

  5. Restart and test

Start or restart the resource/server as appropriate for your setup, then join and open your clothing menu. Test the supported freemode character body, cycle through the supplied designs and check texture appearance and fit.

Drawable, component and texture selections depend on the resource and your server’s clothing system. Numbers from another server may not match yours. MP Male and MP Female clothing assets are not interchangeable; check each product’s character compatibility.

Before making it available to players
    • Resource starts without reported errors
    • Clothing appears in the correct component
    • Textures display correctly
    • Correct supported character body
    • No obvious conflicts or missing clothing
CHECK THESE FIRST

NOT SHOWING UP?

Read the server console before changing files. Change one thing at a time so you can identify the cause.

Resource does not start
  • Check the resource folder name matches your startup entry.
  • Find fxmanifest.lua directly inside that folder, not inside another wrapper folder. Older resources may use a legacy manifest; follow the pack’s instructions.
  • Confirm your server loaded the correct startup configuration or hosting-panel setting.
  • Read console errors for missing files, manifest problems or dependencies. Do not guess fixes by renaming clothing files.
Clothing does not appear
  • Confirm the resource is running, and test the supported character body.
  • Check the clothing component and drawable/texture selection in your own clothing system. There is no universal menu index.
  • Check whether another resource replaces or conflicts with the same assets; test changes in a controlled environment.
  • Your menu may need its clothing data refreshed, or a reconnect/restart. Follow that system’s documented refresh/cache procedure rather than deleting arbitrary cache folders.
Textures look wrong
  • Check that the supplied YTD textures belong with the YDD drawable and that you selected a supplied texture variation.
  • Compare against the untouched download. Re-extract or re-download if files are missing or corrupted.
  • Check for conflicting clothing resources and unintended renames or edits.
  • Follow the exact pack instructions for its texture names and metadata; contact support if the unaltered files still fail.
A player bought the clothing but cannot see it

Buying a FiveM clothing resource does not automatically unlock it on every server. A server owner or admin must install it first and make it accessible through that server’s clothing system. Players should get the server’s agreement before buying.

Does MP Male clothing also work on MP Female?

No—MP Male and MP Female assets are not interchangeable. Custom character bodies can also require different assets. Check the supported body on the product page and in the pack instructions; do not assume support that is not listed.

What should I send support?

Send the pack name, supported character body you tested, your clothing system, relevant console errors and a screenshot of the issue. Explain which step failed and whether the original files have been changed. Do not send server passwords or secret keys.

YOUR PACK / YOUR SERVER

INSTALLING MANIK STUDIOS CLOTHING.

Manik Studios products are digital server clothing resources, not physical clothing or automatic access on another server. Each product page shows the supported character body, pack contents and installation notes before checkout. Read those details alongside this general guide.

For example, check the body support and contents of RIVAL Volume 2 — Tracksuits & Tees, or inspect the free Reaper Bandana before adding it to your server.
